Strength

In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. Psalm 5:3

Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck.
I sink in the miry depths, where there is no foothold. I have come into the deep waters; the floods engulf me. Psalm 69:1-2

My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart
trusted in Him, and I am helped.  Psalm 28:7

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. Psalm 23:4

JW thoughts:

I talked to my friend Linda this week about her cancer. She has already had surgery and will need to have radiation and chemo therapies. I worry about her because she seems defeated before she has started.

Linda is my nurse friend who lost her son to cancer last November. I feel that her grief is playing a part in  facing the cancer monster. I don't want her to give up.

Pray for her please.

I can't image facing what she facing, especially after losing her son to cancer. Giving up is not good. I'll definitely keep her (and you) in my thoughts and prayers. Have a wonderful Sunday.

I can't imagine losing my son, so my heart goes out to your friend Linda for her loss.
I know this...only Jesus can be her comforter, wrap His arms around her and hold her up during her grief and own trial with cancer.
I pray Jesus watches over her, and holds her up when she can not stand, gives her hope where she might find none, faith that in all things He is in control and there is a purpose, and to always know that Jesus will never...EVER leave her.
God bless her, and I'm praying for Jesus to help her through her grief and her illness...lifting her up and His healing powers envelope her!
With God, there is always hope.

I'm sure if anything could break my spirit and sap my will to fight, it would be losing one of my kids. I hope your friend can find some perspective and reason to fight. Hang in there. It sounds like you are being a good friend and she needs that right now.

I will extend my prayer list to include your friend Linda. I too have a friend with terminal cancer, such an evil it is. :(

But Alex said it all.

Oh, I can just imagine how dispiriting facing that treatment would be...especially after you don't really have anything else to give after losing your child.

I'll keep Linda in my prayers.

What a rough time your friend is facing. I'm sure the grief would make the dealing with cancer that much worse. I will pray for Linda. God can heal the body, heart and spirit.
Yes, agree that prayer is needed. I pray it gets better.

It does seem like it could not get worse??
Old friends and new friends, thank you for your thoughtfulness and prayers.

Hope you are having a great Sunday.
Prayers for your friend. Sometimes medical people simply know too much about human science, making it harder to trust the non-human mystery. Certainly, having lost her son must be weighing negatively on her in her own cancer battle. How sad! Here's hoping that God will choose to turn all of this into some kind of good.

For a parent to lose a child is one of those unimaginable heart wrenching pains. It has to shadow her current situation.

So sorry for your friend's health challenges and her loss. She's lucky to have you as a friend and all you can do is just be there for her and pray. I just sent a little prayer up for her too.

Cancer can be such a tough challenge for any of us to face. It's a sad situation, but God's ways are higher than ours. I have offered a prayer for her.

Tossing It Out
I pray that God will give your dear friend the peace and strength she needs to fight the cancer monster. My heart aches for her.

I have a young girl in my Sunday School and Kid's church who is goin' through chemo and radiation at the same time. She had a malignant tumor at the base of her brain stem. I fear her prognosis is not good but I know the our God is bigger than any stinkin' cancer.

God bless ya and have a beautiful day sweetie!

How are you feeling?
