Confidence and Peace

The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?

When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.

Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.

One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.

For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.  (Psalm 27:1-5 NIV)

JW believes:
We were never promised a life (here on earth) free of sorrow or aggravation. That life will come later if we are believers. We ARE promised power over the things that hurt us. Ultimately, we have choices to be victims of the world and people's nonsense or conquerors through Christ. We can meet our adversaries with hate or surrender or with confidence and peace when we hand over life's aggravations, pain, and suffering and believe that God will find justice on our behalf.

He will.

He does.

I promise.

Two more verses of triumph to claim when you feel attacked and worn down. Post it. Memorize. Believe. God is never far.

"O our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you." (2 Chronicles 20:12 NIV)

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39 NIV)

Focus on Him and never on what is happening around you. Distraction can mean defeat.

Blessings,
Teresa

It's not a smooth ride, but we do have power to control it. And it ends pretty well, too!

We went over stronghold today, I was surprised at it's meaning, think of the song "Rock Of Ages".
Sometimes ya just gotta hang out under the shelter of His wings, baby! I thank God that he is my stronghold in time of troubles.

God bless ya and have a super Sunday!!!
Thanks so much for the inspiration, Theresa!

This was part of the theme of our church sermon this morning. These are some reassuring verses. We are told to expect persecution for what we believe, but when we hold firm in God's promises to us we can not be conquered-- we might die, but ultimate victory will be ours.

The Lord uses other people to help us. Today I am recovering from an extremely hard weekend! I use the internet to calm me down this morning. I am reading Cut and Dry and through it find your page. I immediately find this particular days' post. A peace so calm and profound washed over me. The Lord led me to this blog, this post on this day.
