Firmly Established

The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and is armed with strength. The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.

Your throne was established long ago; you are from all eternity.

The seas have lifted up, O Lord, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.

Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea—the Lord on high is mighty.

Your statutes stand firm; holiness adorns your house or endless days, O Lord. Psalm 93:1-5 (NIV)

JW's thoughts:

We live in a fast paced, throw away world where we shouldn’t get too comfortable with anything. Here today, gone tomorrow. In a blink, our worlds can change—jobs end, marriages break, and friends betray. Yesterday’s successes are not today’s successes.

One thing we can depend on is the unmovable God of the universe. He is established, mightier than all the forces of man and nature. God is the opposite of chaos. He takes chaos and puts it in order. He is in control of all things.

When our world falls apart we need to be careful of assigning human likeness to God. If we do, we diminish his power in our minds and hearts and our faith suffers. Our heavenly Father’s understanding is not our understanding. His is better.

We do better if we align our thinking and faith to his. Then, God can be God.

A most fitting point for me today. In him I know the light will come to be. My human nature is not allowing him his time. Thank you for the reminder.

Hope all is well you and sending you blessings

Amen...

One time I mentioned I kept giving it to God and he kept giving it back to me. Someone answered, no, you keep taking it back. You have to truly give "it" or your problems to God and allow him to handle them.

How true! We do live in a world full of change, and it's so reassuring to know God doesn't change and we can always depend on him to be in control.
