Neighbors

Update: I had been shoveling all morning. I had to stop and rest then go back out. It was very hard work shoveling that long driveway. Look what I did.

Not really.  But, I really had been working all morning and afternoon on the driveway because I can't stand to be enclosed...trapped. I was resting inside when I heard something outside. It was my neighbor (kind of) with his Bobcat and he was moving that snow! He told me he was digging out his neighbors. Neighbors?  He lives about a 1/2 mile away. I wanted to pay him. He said no way.

He went out of his way to help. He has proven many times to be a wonderful quality of a man and a great distant neighbor. :) I happen to know he would do anything to help anyone.

Thanks, Mike.

It would have taken me forever to get that snow piled to the sides.

I am free..for now...until the next storm.

Now I'm inspired!!!

Oh, these photos hurt. I feel your pain Sister and I completely under cabin fever. Please stay safe and warm. BTW, you gotta love a neighbor like Mike. Reminds me of the neighbors we had when I was growing up.

Thoughts in Progress
Jules, I don't know where I'm going except I had to cancel my dye job today and she may get me in tomorrow. :)

Mason, I know our snow isn't anything like other places, but it still hurts...the cabin fever. I don't adjust well to anything, I'm finding out. This information is disturbing.

wonderful to have such great neighbhours..
I'm so glad you're not trapped in there and didn't have to shovel that whole driveway! That would be such a huge job!

A good neighbor is a rariety in today's market.

You are very fortunate.

That is the blessing of a good snow fall. It can bring out the best in people and bring out the best people. Neighbors helping neighbors. I always feel a strong sense of community when we band together to shovel back Mother Nature. Glad you had help and were rescued from your trapped "castle".

So wonderful to have neighbors like that! Take that man some cookies! Glad he could get you cleared out. Hubby had the snow-blower, and our driveway is not NEARLY that, but it was definitely quite a snow...

Ha! You had me at first! I thought...wow, she really went to town with the shovel...LOL!

What a nice guy. It's good to know there are still people out there like that.

Hope you're keeping warm! PS. Welcome to my world! ;-)

Oh, and I saw your comment about cabin fever...you think it's bad??? Well, how about I send two little boys your way and see how you feel after being cooped up inside with nothing to do!!! :-)
I’m really appreciating living in Florida right now!

I have shoveled snow before and know it's no fun. Thank goodness you have such a kind-hearted neighbor.

Where I live, I don't have any close neighbors. But I also have a *Mike* who lives about a mile away on our gravel road. He'll pull out his big ole combine styled tractor and plow our road or pull us out of a ditch when hubs slid on the ice and off the road. He's there if I need help loading a round of hay for the horses.

This last storm we had about 4 inches of pebbled ice fall followed by 6 or so inches of fluffy snow. Winds blew much of the snow but I'd need a jack hammer to remove the ice. Hell, I can walk on it without it breaking. Drive on it without the tires barely making a mark. sigh... I'll be so glad to see spring...

Gal I know how you feel! I just got my new job a month ago and this week could only go on Monday. I "stupidly" listened to my boyfriend and brother-n-law that the interstate was good and got out to try and make it to work yesterday and it took me 1 hr. 40 min. to make it to Springfield! Only to have my boss call me from her house (smart...she didn't come in!) and told me to go home and stay put until it's safe.
I don't like being closed in either and because I'm so short the snow is up to my knees...next to someone of normal height which is around their calves (Ha)!
Praying no more snow...until next winter!
