Hey there. Come close, I’ve something to tell you. Closer. A
little closer. Ok that’s close enough.
It’s Monday. That’s all I wanted to say and this:
A-Z Talk Again
On a shopping trip with my daughter this weekend, we I
talked about the A-Z Challenge
coming in April. I mentioned [again] how I wish I hadn’t signed up for the
challenge nor told the world I was committing to it.
She said, “It’s good for you.”
I said, “I know. The A-Z is definitely challenging me as a
writer.”
There was much more, but I won’t bore you except to add, I quit
every week—the Blogging from A-Z
Challenge and, it hasn’t begun, yet.
The good news is that writing the 26 posts for the April
A-Z challenge has benefitted me by:
1. Moving my laziness out the back door.
He still tries to get my attention by slobbering and tapping on the window. He
wants to move back in ASAP.
2. Helping me with communication. This is
also called talking to myself. I have 26 posts to perfect. I’ve gotta talk it out,
Bloggers.
3. Giving me a reason to get out of bed in
the morning. Ok, ok, I was already getting out of bed because I have job to go
to. I need to be paid.
Finally, writing for the A-Z Challenge is helping me:
4. Become a better writer. I believe it!
There’s still time to sign up if you want to. Go here to sign up and read all about
it.
I haven’t forgotten my pledge to write one short story a
month and send it out to find a home. I’m in the editing stage of a mystery.
What’s new in your
world?
I'm glad that I'm not the only one who is a bit anxious about the A to Z Challenge. I already feel too busy. I think this blogging challenge will help me re-focus (at least that is what I'm hoping).
ReplyDeleteI have written three posts for April and scheduled them to auto-publish. What I'm struggling with now is making time to write for my blog as well as the three books I'm working on. Sometimes I feel like blogging becomes my distraction from other forms of writing.
I'm just going to go with the flow and see what happens. I agree that I think it will make us all better writers and I'm looking forward to the nudge that it will give me to write every day.
Good luck!
It sounds like you're taking on this writing challenge wholeheartedly, Teresa, and we're expecting GREAT posts from you in April. No pressure.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for ya. Golly gee, I have trouble gettin' up one post a week. You go girl!!!
ReplyDeleteGod bless and have a fantastic week!!! :o)
Good for you for committing to the challenge. I look forward to reading your posts.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, you already wrote all 26 posts! I don't think I've ever written a post ahead of time except when I've done a giveaway. Good for you! Can't wait to see what you've come up with! :-)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe the A-Z Challenge starts in 6 weeks. Good for you for getting ahead with your posts!
ReplyDeleteSee, it has you all motivated now!
ReplyDeleteAnother anxiety-ridden A-Zer checking in. I feel like April is about to turn into a tsunami of blogging and wash me away.
ReplyDeleteGlad others are feeling a bit of angst. I'm not alone and that's comforting. However, I think your positive spin on it has helped. Thanks.
Most excellent. Blogging has helped me tremendously - I believe it can help a lot of writers. I'm not participating, though, because I have too many other irons in the fire in April and one of them is a blog break toward the end of the month.
ReplyDeleteI am in awe of such a commitment. As you could probably look at me and describe me as yellow (and I'm not talking jaundice) you can probably guess what my response to joining up would be. Haha! Good luck and take lots of deep breaths!
ReplyDeleteMotivation is the name of the game! Awesome shout out for the A to Z Challenge. I', looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it! Don't let yourself talk yourself out of it.

A-Z is hard but make your posts short. I'm going to be doing some of mine in advance.
ReplyDeleteI admire you for joining the A-Z. I think about it, but never seem to be able to commit.

Thoughts in Progress
I know you can do it! You're a wonderful writer!
ReplyDeleteI've taken a few pictures for the challenge. I want a pic of each letter, but haven't really come up with a theme, much less writing posts.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog :-) I was on the fence about the A to Z this year, but then I always second guess myself. Completing it last year really boosted my confidence, and I agree that it can be a great tool for growing as a writer, as well as a way to meet and connect with others!
ReplyDelete4. Become a better writer. I believe it!
ReplyDeletethat' always on my list! Xx
I can hardly wait to read this writing that has been so challenging for you, and that clearly has moved you up a notch or two as a writer. Thanks for both the inspiration and the chuckle. :-)
