Sunday Reflection: I okay, I okay!

My new prayer journal!
“I okay, I okay," my nearly four-year-old grandson yells out every time he trips or chooses to throw himself over random objects or people. Then he pops back up, throws both hands up in the air and assures his mom that he’s okay.

Right this minute, all over the world, people are crying out to God to help them, save them from the crisis they face. Sometimes we see how God helps us, and sometimes we don’t. Not always, but usually, people’s dire circumstances improve and it’s then we stop communicating with our Heavenly Father.
God wants an everyday relationship with his children where we may cry out to Him in bad times, but also praise Him (good times or bad).  Praising God our Father through the good times and the bad increases our faith in Him (1 Thessalonians 5:18) and draws us nearer to Him.

“Praise the Lord.

Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.

Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.

Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,  praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord.” Psalm 150 (NIV)

Sometimes we just need to say, “I okay, God. I’m just here to say thank you!”

Blessings,
Teresa

In all things, give thanks.
Exactly - God wants to hear from us all the time. He's not there just when we have a crisis, He's there all the time as a friend.

So many bad things going on in the world right now. I don't understand how, if there is a god, he can let them happen. :(

I not okay -- I need the Lord's guidance on a daily basis. I don't know how he tolerates the stuff we humans do to each other. His patience is beyond my comprehension.

Good and bad will happen every day, just have to find a way to move through it
Hi Teresa .. I okay, I okay .. good for him - hasn't inherited grandma's genes?! And as Mason says - I hope your son is taking things easy and letting life lead him on ...

With thoughts - love the thought of your grandson though .. cheers Hilary
