Sunday Reflection: Fear vs. Faith

Fear encourages a belief that our circumstances, that “thing” we are going through, on this day, will never be better or leave us alone. We may feel “it” is too great, and life is over. Although fear has a good purpose, it can be a paralyzing experience. Often we allow it to reign over our lives. Entertaining fear will impede our faith in God's ability. We may even stop believing that God is big enough to do what we need done. Even though we may not see it, God is always at work in our lives.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV)

Faith is hoping in what we cannot see (Hebrews 11:1), believing that God can “do exceedingly abundantly all” that we need according to the (His) power within us.

Blessings,
Teresa

I am currently suffering from fear and massive stress/anxiety over things I can't control or change. It's taking a toll on my health.

fear can sure take a toll, but pffft to it I say.
Teresa, to me there can be no faith without fear -- just as with courage -- we cannot be brave without that cold knot of fear. There have been dark passages in my life when each night I would only be able to get to sleep by quoting David: "My times are in Your Hand, Father." :-)
