Death can be VENOMOUS

I am participating in the Blogging from A-Z Challenge again this year. What is this mysterious blogging challenge you ask? Arlee Bird from Tossing it Out came up with this fantastic idea where bloggers post using consecutive letters of the alphabet for 26 days in April. It grew in numbers, and Arlee now has many helpers. To view other participates of the A-Z event click here.

Odd deaths happen, right? It’s sort of like being at the right place at the right wrong time. My A-Z 2016 blogging journey takes us down the road of Death by Oddity. Come join me.

V= Death by VENOMOUS Snake
Chef Peng Fan was about to prepare snake soup at a restaurant in China where he worked. His prep earlier had included de-heading a snake. Twenty minutes into the preparation the snake head bit him and Peng Fan died. A blurb here.

I like snakes too much to eat them. You can hate me, but I think they’re cool. If there is blame to give for my attitude, give it to my dad. He taught me appreciate snakes. No fear here.

Very much on the home straight now. I have been enjoying this series very much.

For myself, I respect snakes, but prefer there to be something between me and them - distance is good, so is glass.

Hi.
Scientists have now worked out that the brain may take up to six hours to finally die, not a pleasant thought. To have the snake bite after it has been beheaded may seem unusual but maybe not.
With regards to snakes I've learned to treat them with respect. This comes from having been bitten by a Cape Cobra. I used to catch them among the buildings on the farm and return them to the wild but on one occasion there were too many people around and I got distracted, silly really. Anyway I am now also on the home stretch and have been so enjoying this challenge. Well done to you and may you be blessed, Geoff in South Africa.
Hi Teresa - I couldn't quite believe this one - how very horrid ... no wonder they say it took Mary Queen of Scots 20 minutes to die after her head was chopped off ... I hope that factoid is right!!

No thanks - snakes and I aren't happy bunnies ... but they are incredible creatures and have adapted to life so well - obviously they hate death!! Cheers Hilary

Not that afraid of snakes, just like to keep my distant from them - that includes not eating them.

I heard about that chef being bit by the severed head. Ew. I don't like snakes at all.
Seems a bad idea to make the soup out of poisonous snakes anyway. I wouldn't eat it either.

Yeah, just why would you want such a soup? blah

That story sounds familiar, but not sure where I would have heard it. Maybe a show on Netflix.

I don't care if a snake's alive or dead as long as they aren't nearby. I'm about 180 degrees from you on the liking snake scale.
I am like Lee ... snakes and I have a non-aggression pact. I stay far from them and ask the same favor in return! :-) Me and Indiana Jones.

When I was little, my Dad killed a copperhead that was making itself at home on our property. The body kept moving for a good half hour after he'd cut the head off. I'll admit, I love watching snakes, but I wouldn't want to get too close to one.

Wow, that's crazy - who would imagine a snake's head could kill you without a body! I love snakes too :)

Yikes. Occupational hazard?
