Death per OWNER’S Car

I am participating in the Blogging from A-Z Challenge again this year. What is this mysterious blogging challenge you ask? Arlee Bird from Tossing it Out came up with this fantastic idea where bloggers post using consecutive letters of the alphabet for 26 days in April. It grew in numbers, and Arlee now has many helpers. To view other participates of the A-Z event click here.

Odd deaths happen, right? It’s sort of like being at the right place at the right wrong time. My A-Z 2016 blogging journey takes us down the road of Death by Oddity. Come join me.

O= Death per OWNER’S Car

I can hear you saying that lots of owners die in car (type) accidents, but consider this. A woman died after she was ran over by her own car. Law enforcement is not certain on how she actually died, but a witness said they saw the woman loading groceries into her car earlier. They believe the woman’s car was in "drive" and somehow she fell and became pinned under the wheels of her car. More here.

Freaky and odd.

This one has my name written all over it. Did I tell you about the time I locked my car door with some of my waist length hair in it? Ouch. I had to have help to get out of that one. Or the time I locked my convertible’s doors as I jumped out in a hurry only to trap my keys halfway in halfway out, between the window and the soft top? There’s pictures.

Yep, this Death by Oddity has my name written all over it.

Comments

Sigh. For some reason death in a car accident has always given me the horrors. Killed by your own car? Worse.

I want to add.. Truth is stranger than fiction.. Such an apt case for it to apply!
Hi Teresa - this happened to one of our Borough Councillors - very unfortunate ... and it was relevantly recent ... sad but true ... Please don't let it happen to you ... your stories are a little worrying .. take care and cheers! Hilary

Now that is strange. I've been known to lock my keys in my car and when my hair was down to my shins I closed the car door on it from time to time.
I was thinking exactly the same thing! This could *so* happen to me!
That would be a crappy way to die.

What a sad way to go. But the car would had to have been in reverse, not drive, if she was killed putting groceries in the trunk. I guess unless it was a VW, then she would be in the front.

Ouch with your hair!

That would be sad to die this way. Always have to be careful around a big piece of machinery like a car.

Reminds me of Christine. I think some cars DO seem evil... Maybe it is a big like dogs--most are loyal and lovable (if they occasionally misbehave) but once in a while one has been abused and becomes dangerous *nods*

How horrible! Really makes me wonder if she made the mistake or if there was a defect in her auto. I tend to get distracted once in a blue moon, and pray every day that God will keep His hand of protection around me and that He will prevent me from doing something stupid that would harm someone else.

Strange but true. How awful to get your hair trapped. I've shut a few wisps of mine while rolling up the window!
