Love Day- Weekend

Love is like the wild rose-briar,
Friendship like the holly-tree—
The holly is dark when the rose-briar blooms
But which will bloom most constantly?

The wild-rose briar is sweet in the spring,
Its summer blossoms scent the air;
Yet wait till winter comes again
And who will call the wild-briar fair?

Then scorn the silly rose-wreath now
And deck thee with the holly's sheen,
That when December blights thy brow
He may still leave thy garland green.

  1. the relationship between love and friendship are both very different yet so similar with each other that people get confused that whether it's good friendship or this is love? these days people are falling for temporary love, which is not at all love.. without love the flower of friendship will die and without friendship the flower of love can't bloom! But who will stay for long is the matter of question, and i think it's friendship ! such nice poems should be exposed in the society.. they have a greater and a deeper meaning attached to both the words..

  2. Love and friendship go hand in hand...it's lust that often deals the most disruptive blow!

  11. Being Valentine's Day I haven't found my Mr. Right, but bumped into many a Mr. Wrong. I don't let it get me down...God will bring it in my life...I have FAITH! Until then he gives us women really excellent girl friends that we can hang with, vent to, cry with, laugh with...and at each other, and go to the movies with.
    The last being my best friend and I went to see, "Valentine's Day" at the later matinee today and I recommend it! Really good, and we laughed and we did our, "Ahhhhhhhhh!" and we teared up, and just had a great time. Friendship is a gift, bless someone with yours today!
