Slim Pickings...

...on my ramblings this Mon...day.

I'm determined to finish my Steinbeck book soon, The Winter of Discontent, so I can begin another of his books. May I start your work week with a little of Johnny's humor?

"The profession of book-writing makes horse racing seem like a solid, stable business." John Steinbeck

Have a great week!

  4. Steinbeck is one person I would enjoy sharing a summer shade with tall, cold drinks and lots of time to listen.

  6. I love Steinbeck too. An afternoon in the lawn swing with a copy of Grapes of Wrath sounds like something I am going to have to plan for this summer. Thanks for reminding me.

  7. Hi Theresa .. so untrue - just occasionally horse-racing seems like a good bet! But I'll follow the writers of this world ..

Have a good week .. Hilary

  9. You can't hide your day from me...I know you have a leak under your sink. I have tried bubble gum, it works for a little while.

  10. I recall reading Winter of Our Discontent for a book report when I was a junior in high school. I liked it then, but I think I would appreciate it even more now.

    Horse-racing? Hummph!
