Sunday Reflection: Moments to the Big Picture

So often, in difficult times, we focus on a moment of crisis instead of the big picture, asking God to change "it" to suit our immediate needs instead of doing what is best for us.

We are focused on that moment in time.

I've been there, where I tell God how to do His job as "Maker of heaven and earth".  Pretty arrogant of me to think I know best. Then time passes and just like today I see that His decision for me was the only way that I could have come out of that situation for the better. It’s the way I would have wanted it had I been thinking like God in that terrible moment in time.

Moments, good or bad, are drops of time, never the whole picture of our life.

                           Psalm 121

"I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you—the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." Psalm 121

It's not easy to keep our eyes on the Lord, who knows what to do and and when to do it, but thats how it works. Faith.

Blessings,
Teresa

I think we are all guilty of telling God to fix something for us, like we would even think of telling God what to do!

Things have been pretty bad here.....I think there's too much to be fixed at this point.
I keep telling myself that in God`s eyes, a year would be like seconds to Him. It just hasn`t gotten better here either, however I will wait in faith with my eyes on Him, phyllis

Many times I give my troubles to God and then end up taking them back.
