Monday Rambling

Okay, you know that Monday and I don't actually get along...becuz she makes me work.

So let's talk about the weekend.

The Dr. (daughter) and I went a shopping Saturday. We had a sleepover (that's what my granddaughter calls staying overnight). So I got to cook a little for her on Friday night.

We talked.

Ate some more. Talked some more.

Saturday we went shopping. We went to a lake mall... shopped at Jockey, Banana Republic, J. Crew, Brooks Brothers and a book store. Very pretty sunny day.

We also hit a thrift store that funds an animal shelter. You know how I feel about animals and...

you know how I feel about pillows...about old things...textiles. I found this tapestry pillow there (see first photo). I love it.

I found this pillow. It will be beautiful after a good washing.
Both pillows together were only 50 cents....the experience priceless.

I found this framed artwork. I love original artwork. I hope it is signed under the frame. It's a pearl necklace -in case you can't tell.

Saturday evening I saw my son and daughter-in-law and three very beautiful goblins. Did I tell you that my son is a keeper too? Yes, my children are perfect, don't hate me for that. I can't help it, they just turned out that way.

Then Sunday, I went to church with my daughter.

A super great weekend, but Monday is trying to ruin it. I will have a talk with her later and it won't be pretty. We just don't get along.

Did you have a good weekend?

It sounds great to spend some charming time with your dear children.

The pillow and the frame work are nice.
You had some great finds at your thrift store! I don't ever seem to find anything.

It sounds like a wonderful weekend with your family!

I'm trying to come to terms with Monday, too. I've got a lot to do, writing wise, but I've also got to clean up the house, now that everyone will finally be gone!

Great thrift store finds. I love poking through antique shops, thrift stores, that type of place. This summer my daughter and I rummaged through a used record place and bought several albums representataive of concerts we've been to, to use the covers as an art collection.

When I was young, I always wondered what my Mom found so great about thrift stores. Now I know you can find great stuff there you can't find at other places. I go them every once in a while to see what I can find. It's an adventure.

Joanne, Thrift stores and daughters are wonderful aren't they?

Tugce, Glad you too had a wonderful weekend.

Morgan, Welcome! Looks like I have another book or two to put in my "to read" pile.
Thrift stores are so much fun! What a deal your pillows were.

Sounds like a terrific weekend...and the bargains at the thrift store are a real bonus.

Have a good week...and don't let Monday get you donw too much, she can be a bit of a pain, but she's only preparing you for the rest of the days so you appreciate them more.

Monday can be a downer, can't it. The pillow is beautiful. I love lace type ones too. I hope your week picks up for you!

I just found your blog and wanted to visit. I love the pillow you found and the artwork you framed. I don't have a daughter, only 3 sons, so things are a little different.
Elizabeth B.- I just have to be careful about bringing home too much of what I don't need.

Hello, Lesley, Thanks you too. I will try to think of Monday in that way...

Eileen, It' almost Tuesday, so I think the week is already looking better.

Welcome, Sonia, Yes sons are different. I have one of those too. They both have their purpose in my life.

Week ends are one of those things that just seem to go by way too fast, evenings too. Must we go to work? Then my employee has the audacity to demand these 10 hour days....If only we were born rich..
