Confidence and Peace
The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?
When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.
One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock. (Psalm 27:1-5 NIV)
JW believes:
We were never promised a life (here on earth) free of sorrow or aggravation. That life will come later if we are believers. We ARE promised power over the things that hurt us. Ultimately, we have choices to be victims of the world and people's nonsense or conquerors through Christ. We can meet our adversaries with hate or surrender or with confidence and peace when we hand over life's aggravations, pain, and suffering and believe that God will find justice on our behalf.
He will.
He does.
I promise.
Two more verses of triumph to claim when you feel attacked and worn down. Post it. Memorize. Believe. God is never far.
"O our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you." (2 Chronicles 20:12 NIV)
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39 NIV)
Focus on Him and never on what is happening around you. Distraction can mean defeat.
Blessings,
Teresa
