It's Monday, let me ramble.

It is Monday in case any of you are wondering.  Have you ever noticed how it rolls around every week? Even if you ignore it, others will acknowledge it and make it so.

Awards

I have good blogging buddies that gave me awards, a few weeks ago, even though I don't deserve the awards, but...I will take them, because...I'm not that humble.

The first award You Rock! came from Jules at Trying to Get Over the Rainbow.  SHE rocks. I just want you to know this. And I love the title of her blog because I always feel like a Dorothy trying to get over my rainbow to find my gold, and to enjoy that gold. Her title has helped me think (I know, I know more thinking) that my pot of gold is right here where I exist--right in this moment and I need to stop trying to find my rainbow because I have been living it. Now, isn't that a Dorothy moment if you ever heard one? Thank you, Jules.

The next award came from Gail at At The Farm: Creative Blog Award. I love being called creative, but SHE is creative. She created her own award, and I am 99% sure she took this photo. Her blog is full of creative photography and writing. The vibe I get from Gail is her love and respect for animalkind. I've told you this before, but she takes in dogs in need when she can. I get my fix of horse, dog and cat love when I visit. Thank you, Gail.

If you haven't visited you must do so and join their parties.

SDC
I played this weekend at Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO. The weather was so perfect, I looked around to make sure I wasn't in heaven, but then saw all the stupid people and decided I wasn't. What? You think there will be people in heaven. Yes, but not stupid people...right? Right?

The welcome committee at the SDC entrance. Does anyone else see the spooky Santa lurking in the bush? I swear I didn't see him when I was there. I hope this doesn't give me you nightmares. I can't wait for my son and daughter to see this photo. That's all I'm saying. It has something to do with Santas, Clowns, Easter Bunnies, and/or statues with vacant eyes...and crying. That's all I'm saying...really.

I've been visiting SDC for over 30 years and will post on my rural blog soon about this experience.  It is a wonderful place to visit, but a place typical of Missouri--the hills. I got a good workout.

I went on the train and a little boy in front of us (probably 8 or 9) didn't like the train robbers and wanted to get out of there quick and mostly hid his head in his dad's sleeve. His two-year-old sister and two brothers loved it.

I told my daughter when I become a zillionaire I would buy SDC and kick everyone out and live there. She said that would be terrible and she wouldn't let me do that. I told her she couldn't stop me. She said she would have to make more money than I did and stop me. I told her the only way she could stop me was if she had me committed. Then I thought about this. She's a psychologist. She knows how to do these things. I might rethink my venture.

Photos
Yes, that is a new photo of me (at the top of the page) and I predict (if I know myself) will come down in 2.5 days because I hate me in photos. The last one I put up looked like I was an Avatar woman. This one isn't any better.

Bed Bugs
What's not to like about the life of a bed bug? They travel. They eat all they want. They don't have to worry about enemies who can kill them.

Do you have a favorite place to visit? What does it do for you?

Thank you for your kind words.

I, too, am a fan of SDC. It is a ways for us. In my younger days, we would take the children, play and come home the same day.

...and your picture is beautiful. If I looked that good, I would put my picture as the header photo.

Lovely! When I was a little kid, we visited a place called Six Gun City. When the bandits hit the stage coach, I disarmed one of them and scared the crap out of him. I was, like, eight.

My first foray into interactive theatre. ;)

Hahaha...the santa lurking in the bushes! Seriously, I just LOL!

Glad you had a good time. Don't you just love Fall!

Looks like a good time, definitely. There are a few places I like to visit. There's a mile long boardwalk on the coast here, that is great to walk, a couple historic neighborhoods that are really pretty this time of year, and nyc, anytime. Most of my fave places to visit are places where I can walk, too, taking in life.

Congrats on the awards. Where would I like to visit? Anywhere bed bugs DON'T live... so I guess NYC is out.

Bleh, on Monday! UCK! I am advocating for a 3 day work week if anyone is interested...

Congrats on the awards, and silver Dollar City looks fun! (and I love the argument you and your daughter had about it!) I had some places like that as a kid, but large gaps in time ruined the effect (moving across the country didn't help). I will have to find new ones.

Oh, thank you for the lovely trip over your rainbow, I'm so glad just my blog title helped. You are a peach. :)

I like your new photo. Just so you know I do not like photos of me either, notice mine is from a distance?!

Have never been to Branson, and where do I want to visit? I'm so wanting to go to North Carolina and mine for sapphires. :)

You deserve some awards today.

There used to be a Silver Dollar City close to where I lived in Tennessee, but then Dolly Parton bought it up and turned it into Dollywood. I think it's been turned into a world-class theme park, but I haven't been there in about 13 years.

I love just traveling the roads of America mainly. There was a place called House on the Rock in Spring Green, WI that I used to really enjoy but I haven't been there in over 20 years. I'd love to go back.

Congratulations on your awards! I think you deserve them and you should truly NOT be that humble. Sorry for my ignorance, but I have no idea what SDC is and lurking Santas freak me out. Don't get committed - I'd miss you! ;-)
Congratulations on your awards.

I think that photo of Santa in the bushes is a sign of the times – we can’t wait until one holiday is over before starting the next one so we may as well blend them all together.

I like going to Sanibel Island. It’s only a few miles from where I live, but I find it soothing and relaxing every time I visit.

Bed bugs do have to worry about exterminators. I wonder if that’s what keeps them up at night!)

Now you're going to think for sure I have multiple personality disorder, but my favorite places are deserted beaches and bustling cities. Either one does it for me. Don't tell your daughter.
Congratulations on your awards! And I love your new picture. :)

Bed bugs worry me!! Other bugs don't (because I live in the South and there are bugs all over the place down here.) But I don't like the idea of blood-sucking things that come inside!

I love it that you had time to play this weekend. I love your new pic. You look friendly and cute. I don't love bugs, ever, any kind, especially the kind that want to sleep with me. Happy New Week!
