This and That

Closets

I cleaned my main clothing closet and removed three bags of clothing. I'm ashamed I had so many clothes and I didn't wear them. We have so much and really need so little.

Then, I forgot.

I forgot that I cleaned my closet. When I walked in my closet later,  I thought I'd entered Narnia because I didn't recognize it. It was a wonderful world my closet, but it wasn't Narnia.

Message conveyed: Don't clean your closet or you'll become confused.

Revelations

It’s going to be a great week if I make it so.  I had two revelations this weekend—revealed about self-power.
1.      If you are waiting for validation from someone and you can get it to save your life, stop.  The waiting isn’t worth it and the validation is not on its way. And, if you continue to wait for that validation, you're putting your power in the hands of someone who does not care about you or you would have experienced the validation already.
2.     If you don’t look fear square in its face, fear will pursue you relentlessly. Fear will also take your power from you.
Message conveyed:  Don’t give away your power. It’s yours.
A New Year's hope for you and me.
"Fear less, hope more; eat less, chew more; whine less, breathe more; talk less, say more; hate less, love more; and all good things are yours." ~Swedish Proverb
Happy Monday!

You've been thinking too much! Cleaning a closet can do that.

Seriously, wonderful revelations...now if I can convince myself, life would be much calmer for me.

It's funny how often fear is really of the unknown, of the what-if. When we look at it square-on, those questions fade and we "see" there's really nothing to be afraid of.

Have a good day, T :)

Two great messages! I promise not to clean my closet OR to give my power away!

(helps that when I give away stuff, I always regret it)

Love the Swedish Proverb. Very powerful. When I clean out anything, I always find new stuff to go in the empty space. Have a great Monday.

I find that the best way to face my fears is exactly that: head on and one step at a time.

Love that last clip! I am eating less and chewing more. Have to lose those addition pounds gained over the holidays.

And I never clean my closet. Who knows, maybe there's a wormhole lurking in there.
Wise words about the validation!

Important message today that touched my soul. Love the quote and plan to use it on my facebook page. Thanks.
We're all linked in this world of inernet, holding each other up, catching one when he falls.
Again thanks. Barb
Lovely post, Teresa!

I'm cleaning my closet, too...because a shelf fell off the wall, it had so much stuff on it! Sigh.

I'm going to have to clean my closet because it's so stuffed full that I don't know whats in it anymore. And I'm afraid that the wooden rod is going to break, it's sagging in the middle!

Wonderful post. I cleaned my closet in the fall - only got one bag. Bad me.

I love what you said about power and validation. I'm going to remember those points. Thank you.

Love the revelations! #1 particularly speaks to me. We must write because we like it, not to please someone else.

I love the revelations about validation and fear. I'm learning to face my fears and not need validation from those who won't give it and to give it to myself more.

I need someone to come sit on my bed and talk me through cleaning mine. :-) I did remove all the clothes from an entire closet and donate them just before hubby moved in and it felt great!!
