Word Power
Words matter. Readers crave words. Writers love to
play with words. The power of words is truly immeasurable.
We all appreciate words of encouragement especially from
family and friends. And yet, sometimes we
save our meanest words for the people we love.
“Do not let any
unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building
others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen” Ephesians
4:29 (NIV)
In the heat of the moment we may forget how kind words encourage and mean words -- wound.
“The mind of the wise instructs his mouth, and
adds learning and
persuasiveness to his lips. Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the
mind and healing to the body.” Proverbs
16: 23-24 (Amplified)
Our words can be persuasive and powerful. How we use the power connected
to our words is our choice.
