Writing, Homework and Entertainment

I’m back. Didn’t plan on being away, but I was suffering a little burn-out from my job, a little depression from life, and needed my vacation. As of last Tuesday, I’m on vacation.
What have I been doing?
On Writing
1.      I finished another short story and sent it out.
2.      I’m nearly finished with the edits on Grim Tales. Next, I’m sending it to an eBook formatter.
3.      I’m writing (just started) a collection of frightful stories. (I love that word—frightful.) There are some frightful (there I go again) stories that need to get out of my brain.

On Homework

1.      I had my deck rebuilt. So then I had to refinish my old patio table to accommodate a new umbrella and stand. I had to buy new chairs.
2.      I put on a new screen door on the back of the screened in breezeway. The new deck made the old door look terrible. You know how that goes.
3.      I planted several Coreopsis plants and a bush (can’t remember its name, but it will bloom pink flowers). I love Coreopsis.
4. I've been mowing my huge yard. Then, I mowed some more. Trimmed. Shaped the 545 bushes in my yard. Then, I mowed some more. To be continued....
Entertainment
1.      I’ve walked six miles since vacation started.
2.      I saw Man of Steel.
3.      I’m reading Summer Rental by Mary Kay Andrews.
4.      I need a road trip, but can’t decide where to go.
5.      I can’t wait for the following shows to begin: Under the Dome and Big Brother.
Finally
What I learned last week from myself (because I’m a learning experience in motion): I don’t understand anything anymore. Nothing makes sense to me. Nothing.

How about you, do you have vacation plans? Home…work? Wisdom to share?

Hey Teresa! Good to hear from you.
That deck project sounds like it took over. I know how that goes - one project just keeps leading to another.
Glad you're enjoying your vacation.

I haven't worked in over 2 years so I guess I'm always on vacation. As for actually going anywhere? Can't afford to but I would like to take some day trips as long as it's not too hot & humid! Enjoy your vacation!

Great progress.

I am in a self-imposed desert at the moment. I agree...nothing makes sense. Look on the bright side, at least you are being productive.

Good to hear from you.

Sounds like you need a vacation from your vacation. While you got a lot accomplished, you worked very hard. I get a lot of satisfaction from a completed project and I hope yours restores you!
Hi Teresa .. good to have you back - where's my air ticket? I said I'd be over to do your mowing?!

Having said that I guess it's cheaper to do it yourself!! New deck, new tidy up, lovely plantings - it will be a beautiful summer

Ne'er mind the reason why will come and life will be back to normal without the depression, lots of jobs to be done .. and then you can take time out and travel a little ..

Have a happy summer - cheers Hilary

You're good at dealing with all kinds of things, even with burnout. Here's to a restorative time off and to a refreshed and renewed Journaling Woman.

enjoy your well-deserved break. don't we all need a break now and then?

big hugs!
"Nothing makes sense to me anymore." I had to smile at that one because, despite that comment, it sounds like you've been very productive Teresa.

No vacation plans here. In fact, no vacation. Only work and more work until September. ;-)

Enjoy your break.

i hope you are feeling refreshed---seems like you should be exhausted though--you got a lot done---i think i just gave that book to someone---it looked good and perfect for a summer read---what did you think of it----i got no real wisdom today, except, don't start playing "candy crush" ;)

I love how you've divided your schedule into these three aspects. I should do the same thing!!

We just returned from our 4 day mini vacay to the southern part of the state. We stopped in at Mansfield to tour the Laura Ingalls Wilder house and it was very interesting. If we go back, we'll go down 65 and turn on 60 instead of taking Hwy 5 most of the way! As far as the rest of the trip, it was HOT, so we didn't do some of the things we had planned to do.

It sounds like you've gotten a lot accomplished. Enjoy the rest of your vacation!
