Sunday Reflection: Negativity brings me down.

If I’m not vigilant, I will allow
negative thoughts to enter my mind, and I’ll hang onto those thoughts way too
long. Maybe you know someone who is negative all the time—maybe it’s you.
Personally, (and I’m no Pollyanna), I don’t like negativity and fight it vehemently.
Being positive enriches a life. Negativity is linked to anxiety and illness of the
mind, body and soul.
We
are the stewards of our own thoughts. We
can allow ourselves to watch things that aren’t wholesome and entertain every
thought that enters our minds, but that’s not healthy. God’s word says that everything
in life is permissible to us (we can do what we want), but not everything is acceptable (1
Corinthians 10:23).
The best way to fight the negative is
to seek the positive—the wholesome things of life.
“Finally, brothers and sisters,
whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or
praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians

I was told I could do anything I set my mind to do as a child. That was great encouragement. Those people don't live here anymore.
I love the quote, it's one that I remind myself to do almost daily...think on that which is good and pure and lovely. Excellent post!
