Sunday Reflection: Life Storms
I can’t even tell you
the number of times I’ve driven through Missouri storms. If it wasn’t torrential
rains, then it was tornadoes flipping about the sky above me. If it wasn’t pelting ice
and slick roads then it was blowing or drifting snow. Like everyone, I’ve
navigated through life storms, too, from the mild storm to those that brings me to my knees.
Last week, I read Psalm 107 again and realized it had added meaning
for me. This is what I gleaned:
God doesn’t always
remove us from life's storms; sometimes He hushes the storm until we feel (His) calm,
enough to gather our strength and move forward to a “desired” place.
"Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress.
He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.
They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven". Psalms 107:28-30
