Sunday Reflection: Glad to See You
We all know people who seem to be glad
to see us, that make us feel wanted. When we walk into the room, we see their
pleased expressions and might receive a verbal confirmation, too.
My person was my maternal grandmother, Sadie. All the days of my life, she
treated me like royalty, special. In fact, I can't think of one thing that I did for her to
deserve her love--except love her back.
Grandma's love reflected the state of her heart.
God's love reflects the state of His heart (1 John 4:8), and His commitment to people (John 3:16).
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we
should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world
does not know us is that it did not know him.” 1 John 3:1 (NIV)
We are
saved for Him because we have a holy purpose.
“God calls us his children and has given us ‘a holy
calling’ not because we did anything noble enough to deserve it either. Therefore
do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but
share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who
has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but
according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus
before time began, but has now been revealed by the appearing
of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and
immortality to light through the gospel, to which I was
appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. For this reason I
also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have
believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him
until that Day.” 2 Timothy 1:8-12 (NKJV)
I am persuaded by love.
Blessings,
Teresa

wishing you and yours all the best in 2016!
lots of love.
Years after she died--and somewhat recently in fact--I learned that she was a real prayer warrior who was continually praying for all of us. My father was the same way. I now attribute many of my life blessings to the diligent prayer work in which they both engaged.
