Death by DRINK

I am participating in the Blogging from A-Z Challenge again this year. What is this mysterious blogging challenge you ask? Arlee Bird from Tossing it Out came up with this fantastic idea where bloggers post using consecutive letters of the alphabet for 26 days in April. It grew in numbers, and Arlee now has many helpers. To view other participates of the A-Z event click here.

Odd deaths happen, right? It’s sort of like being at the right place at the right wrong time. My A-Z 2016 blogging journey takes us down the road of Death by Oddity. Come join me.

Death by DRINK

Basil Brown died when he consumed 10 gallons of carrot juice in 10 days. Who knew that overdosing on carrot juice would cause liver damage?  Source

And this, my blogger friends, is why I don’t eat healthy.

Do you like carrot juice? Now answer me this, why in the world would someone drink that much vegetable juice?

I did know about the carrot juice thing. He wasn't the first or the last. While I can only eat carrots raw I think it would take ten years (at least) to get through 10 gallons of carrot juice. People have died from drinking too much water too. Which the healthy never tell us.
Well, this is my cue not to overdo the health thing...

I suppose that's a gallon of carrot juice a day. I don't personally like it, no. Why would a person do it? Probably hoping it was some kind of cleanse diet they could do and then sell the idea for thousands of dollars. Or the person wanted to see if it really would turn skin orange. Who knows.
Hi Teresa .. I too knew about the carrot juice thing - and it can occur with water ... drinking 10 gallons of anything would put me down! Not a good way to go ...

I see EC has the same thoughts ... cheers - this is a deadly 'fun' series! Cheers Hilary
A gallon of carrot juice a day? Yuck. I like carrots, but not that much. Dude probably turned orange.

I can't say I've had carrot juice but I don't like V8 and that's vegetable juice. Yuck. Not even with vodka and a celery stalk.

I can't even image drinking a glass of carrot juice much less that much.

Ha ha - you got me! I assumed the drink was going to be alcohol. (I like carrots, but I'm not a fan of juicing.)

Oh, no! When I was growing up I had a great-aunt who was considered a "health food nut" (or at least what I heard the grown-up's called her...). I remember her going on a carrot juice diet and she turned orange. True story! It scared me so much I have never drunk carrot juice ever, LOL!

I am not into vegetable juice but I munch on carrots sometimes in moderation. I've heard that Vitamin A, in excess, isn't good for the body.

I really do not care for carrot juice unless it's mixed with something else and even then I'm not so hot on it. Somewhere in my newspaper story file I have an article about a guy who killed himself drinking water. He consumed mass quantities believing he had a giant worm within his body that needed to be flushed out. The story was too weird not to overlook.
