Once Upon a Time
...there were two little girls who were three years old when they met and became best friends and...
their friendship went on and on....
They looked nothing alike except maybe their bad taste in hair barrettes.
One girl had curly reddish hair and a freckled fair skin color.
Blue eyes.
The other girl had straight dark hair and a lovely olive skin color.
Brown eyes.
They couldn't have been anymore opposite in appearance, but...
they shared so many likes and dislikes.
They even liked the same boys, but never competed.
They went everywhere together. They did every...thing together.
They could even finish each other's sentences...like twins do.
So it wasn't a surprise when someone said years later they thought we were sisters because where one went the other followed.
Her parents were my parents.
My parents were her parents.
You know how the story goes...couldn't have been any closer...not if we had tried.

We were twins of the heart.
Best Friends.
Oh to be 18 again. Ok probably not. We don't stay in touch anymore. Such is life.

Even if you've lost touch, you can find her on the internet.
I thank God that He always sends a friend I need in every season of life.
If you're not on it yet, you might want to give it a shot. It's surprising how you can reconnect.
I just have to remember when she's around my present-day companions that she knows ALL my embarrassing episodes from the teenage years. This makes me wary.
