Sunday Reflection: Love and Wisdom
Social
media sites often shows characteristics of people that I never wish to see. I’m
not sure which of my adages apply here: “Keep your uglies in your diaper” or “not
everything you think needs to be said”, but I do wish some would apply either,
in their social media usage.
As
Christians, we have an even bigger responsibility, applying love in all we do.
Instead, we may judge others by saying things that are unkind or just plain
mean because we get attention. When we
do this, we’re not showing the love of Christ in us.
Love
is a huge tool, when applied.
“With the tongue we praise our Lord and
Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out
of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should
not be. Can both fresh water and salt
water flow from the same spring?” James
3:9-11 (NIV)
Wisdom
is our guide.
“But
the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving,
considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.”
James
3:17 (NIV)
