Once a Life
Once a husband,
Once a daughter,
Once a life.
Once with money,
Once with none,
No boundaries.
Dumpsters, soup lines,
The call of hunger,
Empty stomachs.
A wounded spirit,
Life less,
Empty hearts.
Those who stare,
Those who care,
Pass on by.
Today the same,
As tomorrow,
As yesterday.
Survival,
Sunrises,
Sunsets,
Nothing special.
Another day.
Alleys,
Sidewalks,
Cardboard boxes,
Danger.
Homeless.

Mystery Writing is Murder
Tugce and Nezzy- Thanks much. I don't write much poetry but when it comes to me, I make sure I jot it down.
Elizabeth- I guess sometimes one has to be inspired by sad circumstances.
